Services & Procedures

Services Provision

Our services focus on provision of portable water, disposal of waste water, domestic and garden refuse removal, maintenance and creation of new infrastructure and the correction of Council revenue for all services rendered.

Ongwediva is the only town in Northern Namibia that has been properly planned and surveyed. All the formal development is provided with modern services - reticulated water, water borne sewerage system, electricity, telephones and roads. To date the following properties enjoy modern urban services.

 Individual water connections (formal water): 2670
 Communal water points (informal area): 238
 Sewerage connections (formal area): 2500

All the properties in the town (formal and informal) are accessible through all weather gravel roads. All formal housing is served with electricty while the power authority can connect consumers who require power in town any time they pay the required connection fees.

Tariffs are revised every year so that the income generated meets the operations and maintenance costs of the various services. This ensures that Council can provide adequate and reliable services to the community.

The Town Council has recently invested a lot in improving its billing system. Accurate bills are now being dispatched timeously to consumers.
